Request for Proposals is OPEN until August 1, 2026

We are pleased to announce the 2026 Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Community Wetland Restoration Grant Program (CWRGP). This Program furthers the wetland recovery goals of the WRP Regional Strategy 2018 and seeks to provide meaningful and direct benefits to people and communities that have historically faced systemic barriers resulting in limited access to natural resources, and other systemically excluded communities.

Program Overview

Grants will be awarded to applicants to support community-based restoration projects in coastal wetlands and along coastal stream corridors in the southern California region, to promote community involvement in wetland restoration activities, and foster education about wetland ecosystems. Projects funded through the program must include restoration of wetlands, education, and community engagement as components of the project. Applicants may request a grant amount of up to $100,000. We anticipate that approximately $300,000 will be awarded in this grant round and that 3-5 projects will be selected.

See program priorities and project eligibility including examples in the 2026 CWRGP Application Guidance document.
