• In the spring 2017 seniors from UCLA’s Department of the Environment and Sustainability evaluated the physical suitability, land use and cost feasibility for acquiring land for wetland transgression in southern California wetlands. The study sites included Ballona wetlands, Malibu Lagoon and Ormond beach. For more details on this study, access the final report here.
  • Master’s students from UC Santa Barbara’s Bren School of Environmental Science and Management completed an economic valuation of Southern California coastal wetlands to a determine a range of gross economic values for the ecosystem services provided by these ecosystems so that policy makers can increase their capacity for including these habitats into their decision making process.
