This project will build the capacity of local residents to engage in the active habitat restoration and enhancement of the Tijuana Estuary and River Valley through a series of events. Students will be educated on the importance of restoration and preservation of wetland habitat, particularly in the Tijuana Estuary, primarily through in-class presentations and stewardship events. New volunteers will be educated by staff and volunteers trained in roving interpretation. Restoration stewardship events will focus activities on removing non-native plant species, installing native species, and removing trash and waste-tired by hand.
