The Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority has acquired 645 acres of undeveloped property in the Santa Monica Mountains, linking the MRCA’s Corral Canyon Park along the coast with Malibu Creek State Park to the north. Corral Canyon is the last remaining coastal canyon in the Los Angeles County portion of the Santa Monica Mountains with a contiguous band of natural open space from the Pacific to the crest of the range. Rancho Corral lies along both sides of Corral Creek, which flows from its headwaters in Malibu Creek State Park to its mouth at Dan Blocker State Beach.
