| MISSION The Ventura County Wetlands Task Force, a subgroup of the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project, serves a coordination role for all the diverse watershed stakeholders in Ventura County . The overall objective is to breathe life into our wetland ecosystems through a wide variety of efforts including enhancement, restoration, preservation, education and land acquisition. |

PRIORITIESCommunication and Networking - continue to promote inter-watershed and county-wide communication and information sharing on wetland and watershed initiatives. Local Policy Support - continue the work of the task force to support legislation important to Ventura County wetlands and watersheds. Permit Streamlining - work with the Ventura County Resource Conservation District and other agencies and stakeholders to initiate permit streamlining for restoration projects. Youth Capacity Building - utilize opportunities to involve youth and interns in furthering the efforts of the task force. Nonprofit Capacity Building - support the development of new and existing nonprofit organizations to take on restoration projects. Training and Workshops - continue the development and delivery of workshops for Task Force members and others involved in wetland and watershed restoration. |
